We're looking for a Business Process Automation Engineer to join our team. This role combines deep technical expertise in workflow automation (n8n, Make—tool-agnostic) with business process awareness. You'll work with structured requirements and business process maps from our Business Analysts to build robust, scalable, production-ready automations for D2C line operations.

You'll focus on technical excellence—building robust workflows, optimizing performance, handling complex integrations, and ensuring reliable deployment. While you won't be doing business discovery yourself, you'll understand business context to ensure your technical solutions align with business goals. We work with operations and process owners across D2C e-commerce, marketing operations, publishing, and related verticals.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement sophisticated n8n workflows based on business process maps and requirements
Build production-ready automations using proven frameworks, error handling, and monitoring
Develop custom n8n nodes when necessary to extend functionality
Create complex multi-step workflows with conditional branches, data transformation, and error recovery
Integrate with client systems (storefronts, CRMs, marketing tools, inventory systems, payment gateways, content and workflow tools)
Design data pipelines for processing and synchronizing data between systems
Optimize workflows for performance, reliability, and scalability
Test automations thoroughly and deploy workflows to production environments
Document automation architecture and workflows for maintainability

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on experience building advanced workflows in n8n (required)
Strong proficiency with APIs, webhooks, JSON structures, and REST API integration
Experience with OAuth2 authentication and API credential management
JavaScript proficiency for custom n8n functions, expressions, and code nodes
Ability to read and understand business process maps (flowcharts, swimlane diagrams)
Understanding of operations and process automation (e.g. order processing, inventory, customer communications, content workflows, decision workflows)
Experience with error handling and workflow monitoring in production environments
Excellent English communication skills (B2+ level, Upper Intermediate or higher)
Experience collaborating with Business Analysts to clarify requirements

About the Role

You'll work directly with clients (operations and process owners in D2C e-commerce, marketing operations, publishing, and related verticals) to understand their business processes, pain points, and goals, then translate those insights into clear requirements and business process maps for our Automation Engineers to implement. You'll also build simple proof-of-concept workflows to validate automation approaches before production implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Map current-state workflows for client operations (e.g. order processing, inventory management, customer communications, marketing, content workflows, decision workflows)
Identify automation opportunities that clients might miss
Elicit requirements from stakeholders through structured interviews and workshops
Document business processes using process mapping techniques (flowcharts, swimlane diagrams)
Translate business pain points into clear automation specifications
Create structured requirements documentation and calculate ROI projections
Build business cases for automation initiatives and define success metrics
Build simple proof-of-concept n8n workflows to validate automation approaches
Serve as primary client contact for business analysis and requirements phases

Requirements

2+ years of business analysis experience (process mapping, requirements elicitation, stakeholder management)
6+ months of hands-on experience building workflows in n8n (or Make.com/Zapier with willingness to learn n8n)
Understanding of APIs, webhooks, JSON structures, and REST API integration (to scope integrations)
Understanding of operations and process areas (e.g. order processing, inventory, customer communications, marketing, content workflows)
Experience with business process discovery (mapping workflows, identifying inefficiencies)
Experience facilitating workshops or requirements gathering sessions
Excellent English communication skills (B2+ level, Upper Intermediate or higher)
Strong stakeholder management skills and client-facing experience
Ability to translate business needs into clear technical specifications
